Surprise Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/4 cup butter
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1/4 cup sour cream
• 1/4 teaspoon soda
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 2 cups flour

Instructions

1. 1Cream butter, add sugar, egg well beaten and the sour cream. Mix and sift dry ingredients and add to first mixture. Roll to a quarter of an inch in thickness and cut in small rounds. On half the rounds put a bit of jelly or raisin filling or half a stewed prune. Cover with remaining rounds and press edges together and bake in a moderately hot oven for 12 minutes at 375 degrees.
