Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 cups flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 3 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

1. 1Beat butter till creamy, add sugar, beaten eggs, then sifted dry ingredients and vanilla. Roll very thin and cut in rounds or fancy shapes. Place a whole date, blanched almonds or raisins on the cookies and bake in a moderately hot oven for 15 minutes at 375 degrees.
