Snowballs

Ingredients

• 2/3 cup fine granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup flour
• 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 6 egg whites
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

1. 1Sift flour and sugar separately three times before measuring. Sift cream of tartar in flour.
2. 2Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt, add sugar gradually, and the flour and flavoring.
3. 3Bake in a thin sheet, in a moderate oven, in the oven for 35 minutes at 300 degrees. Cut in one-and-a-half inch squares.
4. 4Dip squares in icing and roll in cocoanut.
