Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups crumbs
- 2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- Jelly
- 1 stiffly beaten egg white
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Instructions
- Mix crumbs, milk, sugar and salt, and cook in a double boiler 15 minutes. Add egg yolk and vanilla. Pour into a greased baking dish and cool. Spread with jelly and dot with meringue made with the stiffly beaten egg white and sugar. Put in a moderate oven until a nice brown, in the oven for 20 minutes at 325 degrees.
